The Brazilian Government, more specifically the Ministry of Culture is at it again: it wants to change one of the most important Federal laws that allows tax incentives for the investment on cultural assets, the Rouanet Law, passed back in 1991. There is already a bill of law being discussed in Congress (Bill no. 6.277/10) which proposes the elimination of the current system.
Apparently, Congress is now determining whether to debate the bill more openly, in a public consultation style, similar to the one going on right now related to the Bill to regulate the use of the internet, as commented here. Continue reading
